RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus - RUMC

RUMC was founded in 1996 as Penang Medical College (PMC), RUMC proudly holds the distinction of being Malaysia’s first accredited private medical university. We were formed to fulfil the need for a medical institution in the northern region. RUMC is a collaborative initiative between the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Dublin (UCD), offering students a truly transnational educational experience in a top-tier university in Malaysia for medicine. Graduates earn the esteemed Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO) degree from the National University of Ireland (NUI), which is recognised by both the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and the Irish Medical Council (IMC). The Irish medical degree provides our graduates with recognition to practise in the USA, the UK, Ireland, Canada and others by EFMG and FAIMER. RUMC has graduated more than 2,200 medical students who are now providing their healthcare services in various countries around the world.
